David's Story

First I would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my story. This journey has been diverse and I aim to inspire anyone who can relate to it. Though this journey has been rough, I have been given the blessing of proving that “dreams do come true” in the words of my father. Now, take a deep breath and let me show you the path that I have walked.

I was born in New Jersey on October 20th 1996. I remember very little from the first few years of my life. Most of my memories are from a house we lived in, in Maryland. This time of my life felt normal while I was small. I had my mom, dad, three older brothers and my little sister. This time was unfortunately cut very short when, three days after my sixth birthday, my mom passed away from cancer. This time was tragic and sent our life into a spiral. Unfortunately, I have very few memories of her, but I do remember I thought she was fun and full of love.

From here, my brothers moved out and have stories of their own, just as complex as the situation hints at. What was left was my father, my sister and I. I didn’t understand much at the time but everything around us crumbled down and my father made everyday feel fun and normal. He never gave up on loving us and making life joyful. This didn’t last long, some unfortunate situations happened and my sister and I were thrown into the foster system. We were moved to over 8 different homes in a year and even stayed in an orphanage.

If you know the system, you know they didn’t want us to get back to our father. With the unfortunate circumstances that happened, my father had to start from ground zero. We had started to bounce around from school to school, house to house. All while having one visit with our dad for an hour every two weeks. I still remember he would always bring us gifts, no matter what. One of the places we got moved to was an orphanage, filled with kids looking for homes. I would see kids get adopted regularly and later down the line, I found out they didn't even tell my dad we were there. It was a very eventful time of my life.

Fortunately my dad did get us back, both my sister and I. We stayed together the whole time, which is very rare in the foster system, I am forever grateful for that. After he got us back, we started going to a Christians school in New Jersey from 4th-8th grade. During this time, we had a very helpful family friend helping keep us all together. We got to be a family again! I would often end up spending time with my dad on construction sites after school and help out with anything I could. This peaceful time lasted until 8th grade when we became homeless, sleeping on friends' couches. My father didn’t want us living like that, so we went back into the foster system until he could get back on his feet again. This time we stayed in one home for almost a year.

This was all during the last half of my 8th grade year and halfway into my freshman year of high school. My dad used to sneak to my baseball games just to watch me play. He even got a job close to my school so we could hang out for lunch some days since I could leave the school for lunch. These memories still sit with me today, he was always there in the best way he could be. Halfway through my freshman year, my father got us back! We had to transfer schools, so this would be my second high school in just my freshman year. What an adventure that was! I later got a job after school at 15 to help my dad pay rent.

Now, when he got us back, we had to make a quick move to California to the family friend that helped keep us on our feet. They helped us get things steady again and find a small home to rent. I spent my sophomore year being homeschooled, not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I eventually found bodybuilding and decided that it would be my calling. I trained hard for years with 2-3 jobs and a heart full of fire. This led me to doing my first bodybuilding show at 18 and coming in second place! This is something I am still proud of since I was extremely insecure and known as the ugly fat kid most of my life, an identity that took my years to release. Later, I got certified in personal training and kinesiology. I did my best to pursue those but they never lit my fire.

I saw people growing on social media at the time, inspiring others to chase their dreams and go live their life. These people inspired me to try social media and to work toward inspiring others to chase their dreams. I went into youtube and started pursuing acting in Hollywood and growing my social presence. All of it failed. My YouTube never took off, I did a few acting jobs but it never went anywhere and my social media was NOT GROWING. Ended up meeting Brittany around this time. She came in during a very transformative time and eventually, I moved to Arizona to be with her. That's when Covid hit.

During covid, I picked up a construction job. A laborer, 10-12 hour days, 5-7days a week. This was hard for me, since I grew up in construction and my father told me to get out of it as soon as possible, I felt I was falling backwards. My hopes and dreams were fading away. At this time I discovered the book “The Untethered Soul” by Micheal Singer, which almost literally slapped me in the face with reality and changed my life. Soon after, my income was replaced by social media and Britany and I sold everything to move into my Honda Civic and hit the road. That is when our story begins.

Our Story

After a long, exhausting day—ten hours of digging and hauling heavy bags of cement—I stumbled across a lighthearted challenge on TikTok. Something about it sparked a fire in me. I felt a pull to create, to connect, and to build something greater than myself. That night, covered in dust and sore from work, I opened my phone and began building a community online.

What started as a fun post quickly turned into a movement. I found my place among the Viking side of TikTok, where stories of strength, resilience, and ancient wisdom echoed. In November of 2020, I named our growing tribe House Vikingr—a home for modern warriors, misfits, and kindred spirits seeking strength and belonging. A chosen family.

As the community grew, so did our dreams. Brittany and I sold everything and began a new chapter—life on the road. We started in my car, eventually upgrading to a van, chasing freedom and connection. We traveled the U.S., hosting meetups with the very people who made it all possible. But in Kentucky, everything changed. Our van caught fire. We made an emergency stop in Texas, rented a place, and regrouped.

It was in the ashes of that fire, and the stillness that followed, that a new name took root: Modern Viking Lifestyle. This wasn’t just about a brand anymore—it was a way of life. A blend of the ancient and the present. Of inner strength and conscious living. We were no longer just creating content—we were building a life filled with intention, purpose, and meaning.

Then came 2025. A year of deep reflection, spiritual shifts, and undeniable truth.

We felt called to evolve again—not just in our products and services, but in the way we connect. It was time to step through a new threshold. To lead from the heart, and to invite others into something more personal, more expansive, more real.

That’s when David’s Door opened.

This isn’t just a brand. It’s a portal. A guiding light for those ready to dive deeper, to question everything, to awaken to something greater within themselves. Behind this door lies truth, transformation, and a journey unlike anything you’ve known.

So, whether you’ve walked beside us since the early days of House Vikingr, or you just arrived here by fate or curiosity—welcome. You were meant to find this.

And trust me...

Once you open the door, there’s no going back.
